Saturday treated 67 riders to a beautiful a day of sunshine, reasonable temps and an eagerness to get to Dodge City to dust off the accumulated road grime and enjoy a day off. Sunday will be the only day off during the entire run. In 8 days the migrating herd of antique iron has traveled 1,724 miles across 8 states in various stages of repair. A total of 22 riders have perfect scores as 16 of the Motorcycle Cannonball's competitors were assigned to the "Did Not Start" list.
Today's 184-mile route offered the most mellow terrain yet and riders were grateful for a chance to catch their breath and appreciate the simplicity of the day before arriving at the Boot Hill area of Dodge City's old downtown area for a hosted dinner. By nightfall Cannonballers were busily preparing their individual motorcycles for the last leg of the coast-to-coast run across America.
