1929 Harley Davidson JD

1929 Harley Davidson JD in Colorado. Was one of 19 bikes that finished the 2012 coast to coast Cannonball with all miles. Not as vigorously but is still being ridden. would guess engine miles since rebuilt to be around high 7 to 8 thousand miles. she was restored by Ross Van Etten of Colorado Springs. I purchased the bike from Ross and Margareta the end of 2011. refreshed / rebuilt components to be a part of the 2012 Cannonball. not sure of the exact years but Ross, Mr. Van Etten had the bike judged by AMCA judges.

She carries the Senior Badge. as nice as she is, she is a RIDDEN BIKE and it does show. the rear rack is home built, (can be removed or replaced easily) I ran the clincher tires and wheels but drilled one hole opposite the valve stem on each wheel to install wheel locks. the electrics are of stock looks but using Gene Harpers solid state regulator in the original housing, also using a Shorai 6 volt battery. same battery since installed in 2012. never a problem. have added a extra mirror, stop switch and light, both of which can be removed. due to taper issues I replaced the flywheels with T & G wheels. pistons are bottom trimmed ULs and did NOT use the expander under the oil rings. I have noticed the handle bars do not set even, I have not tried to straighten the one side as I can detect a repair under the paint and can imagine a fracture happening at that point.

My reasoning for the sale is probably greed, as I have another adventure I,d like to pull off. if she sales I,ll give it a go.. hoping the next caretaker has as much a great time and joy of seeing the smiles on folks faces that she meets going down the road. asking 42K.

Thank You for your interest.
