This spring historian, motorcycle restorer, author, and Motorcycle Cannonball rider number 72, Steven Wright from Morro Bay, CA, will once again host his annual vintage motorcycle ride through the back roads and byways of some of California’s most beautiful landscapes.

On May 6,7,and 8 riders can test their bikes and abilities over some twisty California tarmac while making their way to such local establishments as the Pozo Saloon and the Loading Chute. The journey will include landscapes of gently rolling hills studded with majestic oaks, colorful vistas through quaint townships marked with historical buildings, and a promise of an “all-for-fun” weekend.

Sputtering through the Central California Coast’s farmlands -- which is, as Wright puts it, “some very pretty countryside” -- riders will mount their favorite antique machines and join each other for a 3-day motorcycle ride. Many confirmed Motorcycle Cannonball riders will be among the pack that attends this prestigious event. It will start in the town of Atascadero, CA and encompass a total of over 300 miles. This will be a great practice opportunity for our Cannonballers to get in shape for the September 2010 transcontinental ride.
