#161 Otto Lukacs

Racalmas, Hungary

1929 Meray Jap 600

I am Otto Lukács from Hungary. I sat on a motorcycle when I was 10 years old and since then the love for these two tired machines has been a part of me. For more than 20 years I’ve been collecting and repairing pre-second world war bikes. In my small collection, there are American Indians, Harley Davidsons, and besides them European BMWs. Hungarian motorcycles are also very important to me. It has been my biggest dream to compete in this run and successfully finish it. I’m competing on a Hungarian motorcycle, a Méray JAP 500 sv. This bike has been manufactured in the first-ever Hungarian motorcycle factory in 1929. The brand came alive in 1923 so this year it is celebrating its 100th birthday. On the journey, my son, Adam, is also with me to help me out. Together as a Fasther&Son team! My great friend and our most talented mechanic, Tamás is also part of our small team!
